Golden Valley Doodles takes great pride in the pups raised here, and we want to ensure a happy, successful upbringing in your home. Over the years, we’ve wasted precious time and money on inferior products - it’s a learning curve. Our goal is to point you in the right direction for tried-and-true methods, products and services. Get ready to start nesting … it’s just like bringing the new baby home!
Bedding
We love round doughnut beds for new puppies.
Collar and Leash
Start small, and let your pup grow into their collar.
Crate
The crate is without a doubt the one of the best foundations for training one can have.
Housebreaking
Crate and tether!
Toys
Get lots! Soft toys that squeak, tug toys, and some that are rigid for teething.
Treats
For the first 3-4 days, withhold treats. There will be plenty of time for that later.
Feeding
The puppies have been on PawTree (turkey/sweet potato formula),and will be eating dry feed when they come home.
Grooming
Doodles will mat, and mats are painful for them.
Resources
At the very top of my recommended reading list is The Art of Raising a Puppy, written by The Monks of New Skete.
Bottles of Essential Oil
Three things I always keep on hand - canned pumpkin, coconut oil, and essential oils.
Going Home Bag
No, we won't send you away without everything you need!
